Onward Drupal 8

Hello world.

Since 2009, my career has been Drupal websites.  Drupal versions 5, 6, and primarily 7 have been my bailiwick.  Prior to 2009 I was a system engineer writing device drivers, then Java servlets, then LAMP websites.

On November 19, 2015 the core Drupal version 8 was released with completely re-structured, object-oriented underpinnings.   This website was re-released last December as a Drupal 8 site. The simplicity of this site enabled its existence at that time.

Drupal 8 is now much more mainstream.  Significant contributed modules are largely ported and highly usable Drupal 8 websites are being built.  Read more about Drupal 8's ongoing development in my article below about DrupalCon Dublin.

I can help you develop your Drupal 7 or 8 site or port your Drupal 6 or 7 site to Drupal 8.  I will debug any Drupal site. Contact me.

A Drupal trip: From Santa Cruz to Ireland and back

Mary Edith on a bridge over the River Liffey in front of the Dublin Convention Center.

This year I followed up on one of those visions I’ve had for a while. I took the opportunity of a European tech conference to inspire a European vacation.

The occasion was DrupalCon Dublin, which took place September 26-30 of this year.  I was the only Santa Cruz Drupaler present in Dublin, which was absolutely fine, for as all of you know, techies the world over are a convivial group when discussing their favorite subject.
