A Drupal trip: From Santa Cruz to Ireland and back
This year I followed up on one of those visions I’ve had for a while. I took the opportunity of a European tech conference to inspire a European vacation.

My alter-ego website, MEI MUFFINS, is now updated to Drupal 8 as well. I found the D8 FlexSlider easy to work with.
Today I installed Drupal 8 Backup Db module. Most of us have depended on Backup Migrate in d7; in its absense for d8 I found backup_db. This module required that I install Composer Manager module and initialize it. "$ php scripts/init.php"
Drupal 8 can handle simple sites such as this one, of simple pages. For the sidebar Calendar, I added the Calendar (includes Calendar Datetime) and Views Templates modules. There was not a Views Template for a simple Calendar, so I used the template to 'Content Authored On' and edited the view to filter for CT 'Article' only. I do not create Articles. So far only Basic Pages and Blog Posts in this site.
